The Tahiti Cruisers Guide is brought to you by Julien Desmont from Xperimental and Chuck Houlihan from Jacaranda. Starting as an idea based on the very successful Panama City Cruisers guide, it has evolved into 200+ pages of information on vendors and services throughout French Polynesia. In January 2018, we added GPS coordinates and links to Google Maps to assist in locating businesses.
Downloading the guide and GPS map coordinates will facilitate using the guide offline. The coordinates will work for either Maps.me (best for Papeete) or Google Maps.
Especially thankful to John (SV Mary Ann II) and Steve (SV Ocean Star) for their huge effort in supplying a vast amount of information for the guide.

5-2024 SV Indioko., I would simply say that he was able to work magic on our old rusty onan Cummins generator. We removed the genset at marina Taina and dropped it directly onto his truck. He took it away, was able to rewind the stator, built a new metal base and stands to replace the rusted out one and even helped me work out a way to gain both 110 and 240v power out of the single genset. After a quick paint job (mainly to hold the rust in a roughly generator looking shape) he was keen to show us it working before dropping it off back in the marina for us to reinstall. Brilliantly kind and helpful guy and first on my list for generator repair.
11-2020 SV Moira I have recently had to replace my generator with a used unit that needed to be reconditioned, tested, installed and troubleshot aboard. Laurent and Kevin at Chan et Fils SARL in Puna’auia have done an outstanding job and I would like to recommend them to be added to your guide.
