The Tahiti Cruisers Guide is brought to you by Julien Desmont from Xperimental and Chuck Houlihan from Jacaranda. Starting as an idea based on the very successful Panama City Cruisers guide, it has evolved into 160+ pages of information on vendors and services in Papeete and some businesses in Mo'orea and Raiatea. In January 2018, we added GPS coordinates and links to Google Maps to assist in locating businesses.
Downloading the guide and GPS map coordinates will facilitate using the guide offline. The coordinates will work for either Maps.me (best for Papeete) or Google Maps.
Especially thankful to John (SV Mary Ann II) and Steve (SV Ocean Star) for their huge effort in supplying a vast amount of information for the guide.

Patrice Beuscher (speaks English)
3-2020 Patrice Beuscher acted on behalf of Pantaenius Insurance Company, who we are insured with. He assessed the damage done by another yacht to Shiraz. Thorough, highly professional, eloquent in both French and English. Patrice retires April 2020.
11-18 SV Kiapa Nui ex SV Naoma
Patrice did two surveys I was involved in (one as buyer, one as seller). He is thorough and professional. He speaks workable English. My only "warning" is that when we sold our boat he did the survey for the buyers and when he gave them the report in English there were some issues with the translation that caused a few headaches related to the severity of an "issue" he found. In other words, a minor issue got blown up into a nearly deal-breaking drama before cooler heads prevailed... Despite that issue the overall quality of his work still earns my recommendation.

I was rather unhappy with Beuscher. He forgot quite a bit in the report; said a number of things that the report didn't reflect at all (what he had said). The report was mostly tick boxes and various parts contradicted other parts. He agreed to fix a variety of errors and never did. He agreed to do a customs valuation and never did. He waited so long to complete the report I think he got my vessel mixed up with other vessels.
