For Services and Resources in French Polynesia

The Tahiti Cruisers Guide is brought to you by Julien Desmont from Xperimental and Chuck Houlihan from Jacaranda. Starting as an idea based on the very successful Panama City Cruisers guide, it has evolved into 200+ pages of information on vendors and services throughout French Polynesia. In January 2018, we added GPS coordinates and links to Google Maps to assist in locating businesses.

Downloading the guide and GPS map coordinates will facilitate using the guide offline. The coordinates will work for either (best for Papeete) or Google Maps.

Especially thankful to John (SV Mary Ann II) and Steve (SV Ocean Star) for their huge effort in supplying a vast amount of information for the guide.

The guide is a community effort. Updates and new additions are greatly appreciated. If you find the guide useful or find something that needs updating please drop us a note at tahiticruisersguide (AT)

The anchorage around Tahiti Yacht club is generally in the twenty meter range.  The club charges 1500xpf a week for the dingy dock and access to their hot water showers.  They also have good clothes washing facilities.  Carrefour is close and several food trucks come every night. Their moorings are rarely available and cost is high.  You can take diesel but not water there but the maveuvoring room is very tight (wouldn’t recommend for a full keel boat for sure.)  You can occasionally get an end tie for a day or two on one of their docks. WiFi is available from adjacent cafe.

12-2019 Current reports are there is no anchoring allowed near the club

2017- It was reported by Rob on Tiger Beetle that the Gendarme came by in their boat and told all the anchor outs they had 5 days to move.  They said this area is not an anchorage.  Ask at the club for further updates
