For Services and Resources in French Polynesia

The Tahiti Cruisers Guide is brought to you by Julien Desmont from Xperimental and Chuck Houlihan from Jacaranda. Starting as an idea based on the very successful Panama City Cruisers guide, it has evolved into 200+ pages of information on vendors and services throughout French Polynesia. In January 2018, we added GPS coordinates and links to Google Maps to assist in locating businesses.

Downloading the guide and GPS map coordinates will facilitate using the guide offline. The coordinates will work for either Maps.me (best for Papeete) or Google Maps.

Especially thankful to John (SV Mary Ann II) and Steve (SV Ocean Star) for their huge effort in supplying a vast amount of information for the guide.

The guide is a community effort. Updates and new additions are greatly appreciated. If you find the guide useful or find something that needs updating please drop us a note at tahiticruisersguide (AT) gmail.com

Regine is located in Apooiti Marina and primarily works for the charter companies. But in her spare time she will do canvas work for cruisers.

4-2022: Sugar Shack: Our large 200/sq.m spinnaker blew out during a bad gust. She was really bad with a tear all the way across the center and down the side seam. Plus she had several weak spots. We took our sail to Regine who laid it all out on her large floor while examining the amount of work. She asked if we wanted to color match the sail and we said no as it is a 20+ year old sail and the colors are all faded. We just wanted it to work and did not care if it was pretty.

She said it would take 4/5 days and would cost $800 plus material. We were heading to the states and told her we did not need it for 2 weeks. But she called us 5 days later stating it was done and the cost was $850. When we picked it up she laid it all out again and showed us her work. The next day we flew her and we were super happy with the repairs. The shape remained the same, the weak spots patched and the tears all repaired. I would highly recommend Regine! She was polite, professional, on time and reasonably priced!!
